FAQ

We’re happy that you’ve chosen to explore the benefits of chiropractic care. We understand that you may have some questions about what we do. Below, you can find the answers to our most frequently asked questions.

What is chiropractic?

Chiropractic is based on addressing interference to your nervous system. These interferences can be caused by physical, emotional and chemical stress. With our gentle and specific adjustments, we correct interference so that you can function optimally and be the best you.

What is a chiropractic adjustment?

Dr. J uses both hands-on and instrument-based techniques to deliver a precise thrust to your spine and joints. It’s quick and doesn’t hurt. The adjustment is designed to remove the nerve interference present in your body.

Will the adjustment cause discomfort?

No. Our practice members include newborns who are just a few hours old and those up to 95. When necessary, we can use the Activator® instrument or a light fingertip touch.

Can you help a sick baby?

Dr. J has helped numerous children and gotten raves from parents about how healthy their kids are under care. Children respond quickly to chiropractic. We’ll be pleased to check them and determine if they can benefit from care.

How many visits will I need?

As many as you want to heal, feel well, defy the aging process and live without pain. Every individual is unique, so it’s difficult to say how many adjustments you’ll need to achieve your goals. We can estimate your initial care plan, though it’s subject to change according to your progress and goals. Your desired outcomes and expectations will determine what we recommend.

Will I feel better when I get my first adjustment?

How your body responds to care is unique to you. Most people are thrilled with their results. Many feel relief immediately after one adjustment. You may require more depending on your situation. In rare cases, people experience an increase in their symptoms before they report feeling better. Beyond the removal of symptoms, you should know that chiropractic can improve your overall health and prevent your problem from recurring.

Is it expensive to get chiropractic care?

You are in control of your finances. Does chiropractic cost more than an over-the-counter or prescription drug? It may. Is it costlier than surgery or a life that has been surrendered to drugs and their risky side effects? Certainly not. Considering the benefits of care, the experience you’ll have with us and our services, our fees are reasonable.

How long will it take to get adjusted?

Our first two visits are longer as they’re our time to learn about you, then review the findings from your examination. Your regular visits with us are quick, taking just 5-10 minutes. Dr. J is always available should you want to schedule a longer appointment to speak with her one-on-one.

Why does a newborn or child need to see a chiropractor?

The most traumatic event of a baby or child’s life is the birthing process. Normal contractions are 60-80 pounds of pressure. With Pitocin and other drugs, the pressure goes up to 190 pounds. Even a natural birth is filled with trauma. We can make sure your baby or child’s nervous system is clear. With our quick checkups, we’ll be sure they’re not inhibited from having a healthy existence.

Does insurance cover chiropractic?

Most insurances do. If yours does not, we’ll speak to you about other arrangements.

Can you work with my doctor?

Though you don’t need a referral to come to us, we’ll be happy to work with your other doctors to manage your case.

If I’ve had back surgery, can I be a chiropractic practice member?

Yes. Our low-force techniques allow you to get adjusted without worrying about any plates, pins or screws.
